We've been close friends for 6 years, together for 5, and married for 1. As Chris pointed out last night, we are one quarter of the way to 20 years together.
Our anniversary celebration weekend started Thursday evening, since Chris had a four-day weekend. We spent the day Friday resting, watching movies, and having friends over to listen to records. We spent Saturday at Magic Springs with Chris' brother Matt, riding rollercoasters until we absolutely couldn't take any more, followed by supper at Rolando's in Hot Springs. We drove to Van Buren on Sunday to see my family, and came home to find the kitties safe but a little shaken up after the storms.
We tasted our saved wedding cake piece, which tasted surprisingly normal for having been super squished, having spent most the past year in a dying freezer, and having made an emergency trip at 11 pm to my mother-in-law's freezer when our freezer went out.
Widdle got some cake, too.
Here's to all the ups and downs, disappointments and triumphs, hard work, fun, and overall blessing of our first year of marriage. Here's to many, many more.
